Paint And Coating Production Line

When producing different types of paints and coatings, although most of the main equipment in paint and coating production line can be used interchangeably, in order to ensure product quality, prevent cross contamination or meet different formulation requirements, some equipment or accessorties in the production line need to be replaced or flexibly configured.

Equipment / accessories that need to be replaced or configured independently:

1. Stirring blades or dispersing discs

Different coating systems (different viscosities/shear sensitivities) have different requirements for blade forms:

• High shear dispersing disc is suitable for low-viscosity varnishes.
• Anchor/ribbon blades are suitable for high-viscosity thick paste coatings.

Some pigments are prone to precipitation, and customized serrated dispersing disc may also be required.

2. Filtration system

Different coatings have different requirements for particle size, and the filtration accuracy needs to be matches.

Bag, basket or mesh filters of different specifications can be selected.

3. Cleaning system

When switching between different products, pipes, reactors and tank walls must be thoroughly cleaned.

It is recommended to match CIP or manual/semi-automatic cleaning stations.

4. Metering / weighing system

Some coatings require high-precision metering of certain active agents or additives, optional:

• Electronic scales with different ranges
• Precision metering pumps

5. Storage tank / pipeline system

Different paint and coating have different pH, solvent types, and corrosiveness, so different contact parts need to be selected:

• SS304/316, PTFE lining, carbon steel, enamel, etc.

For oily coatings with high VOC, closed storage tanks/explosion-proof devices should be used.

6. Filling equipment

Depending on the type of paint and coating, it may need:

• Three filling specification: barrel, can and bottle.
• Replacement of filling nozzles or different sealing devices.

7. Powder or liquid feeding system

If the product is frequently switched, it is recommended to select a detachable feeding screw/vacuum feeding system to avoid cross contamination.
